Cornwall Coaching Development

Developing players involves many aspects. This section has information on the activities of our football development centres and mini-soccer centres, both for players under the age of 16.
West Cornwall Football Development Centre is based at Cornwall College Camborne. An information leaflet about what is available at the Centre is on the right. For a trial, please email.

Penryn Football Development Centre is based at Penryn Community College. Please contact Jake Ash.

East Cornwall Football Development Centre is based at Callington Sports and Community College. The contact telephone number is 01579 383477.

North Cornwall Football Development Centre is based at the Dragon Leisure Centre in Bodmin. The contact telephone number is 07776 225341.

On 21st March 2011 the four Cornwall County Football Association Development Centres attended a festival at Callington Community College. The teams played numerous mini soccer matches against other centres in a pressure free environment, where playing football was the only focus.

The level of football on show was a credit to the players and the coaching staff at the centres. The players played with freedom and expression and their enjoyment was clear to see. For more, please click here.

Mini-Soccer Centres, developed by Cornwall FA, are for those children who would like to try football or who just want to turn up and play. Sessions are led by qualified coaches. First introduced here in Cornwall, Mini-Soccer Centres are essentially turn up and play opportunities for girls and boys aged from four upwards. The emphasis is on fun and developing skills.

The natural progression is for players to join teams when they are aged 8 and upwards. This indeed happens to players in Mini-Soccer Centres but what’s important is to keep the more relaxed atmosphere of the Mini-Soccer Centre for those who still want to turn up and play.

St Agnes Mini-Soccer Centre
